Benue LG elections: PDP clears all chairmanship, councillorship positions

All 23 local government chairmanship seats and available 276 councillorships in Benue state have been won by the PDP.

The state's independent electoral commission announced the results on Sunday, 31 May.

The All Progressive Congress, did not take part in the election which was contested by just five parties.

The local government council elections in Benue state has ended heavily in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).



The party also won all the 276 councilorship positions in the election.

The results were confirmed by the chairman of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, Terso Loko.


Loko said the voting in the 3,691 polling units across the state were quite peaceful.
