Lagos State Government: Register-To-Open initiative
The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola has disclosed that the Commission is set to begin the Register-To-Open initiative of the State Government.
Mojola declared that in line with the directives of Governor Jide Sanwo Olu, the guidelines towards reopening of the economy have been developed and consultations are ongoing with Stakeholders in partnership with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
He noted that upon registration, a verification process will be carried out to ensure adequate space management is put in place across the various centres to guarantee that social distancing, hygiene and safety measures are observed across all religious and social centres.
According to him, the Governor has set up a Committee, headed by the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, to ensure that the process is seamless.
He noted that the Commission will be engaging Stakeholders in the Hospitality and Tourism sectors on the best approach to the gradual reopening of the economy and registration of entities within the various sectors.
Mojola assured that the process is not tedious and time-consuming and will consider all religious organisations, event centres, gyms, night clubs, bars, lounges, spars, cinemas and restaurants, among others.
